To protect yourself from accidental purchases, you need to change your device settings:

For iOS devices:

  1. Go to Settings — Screen Time — Enable Screen Time. If this feature is already enabled, proceed to step 3.
  2. Tap Continue and choose either This is My [device name] or This is [device name] of My Child.

  4. Tap iTunes & App Store Purchases — In-app Purchases — Don’t Allow.

If you don’t want to completely disable purchases, you can set up a password request before making any in-app purchases. To adjust these settings:

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Tap your name — Media & Purchases.
  3. Tap the blue account icon at the top of the screen.
  4. Tap Password Settings, then select the desired option.

For Google Play devices:

  1. Open the Google Play Store.
  2. Tap the Menu icon — Settings.
  3. Tap Authentication for Purchases.
  4. Choose one of the authentication methods.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions.
