Trees are the lifeblood of your entire timber empire; without a steady supply of fresh logs, your production lines will quickly grind to a halt. Fortunately, you don't have to plant them manually! In Lumber Inc, your forestry department operates on a fully delegable cultivation model. By hiring specialized workers and upgrading your seed catalogs, you can completely automate your reforestation pipeline.

How to Access

You can manage your planting crew and customize your forest types by directly tapping on any active tree or dirt plot in the cultivation zones on the left side of your main sawmill map screen.

   

Core Mechanics

Your forest regeneration system relies on managing your field staff and utilizing your collected botanical cards:

  • Hiring and Training Planters: When you open the forest interaction menu, you will see options to manage your workers. Tap Hire to add more tree planters to your active plot, increasing the volume of seeds put into the soil simultaneously. Tap Train to level up your planters, permanently boosting their movement and planting speeds.

  • Tree Variety Customization: You can actively choose which types of trees grow in your forests. Open the forest menu to browse your available seeds. Planting premium or advanced tree variants raises the base value of the harvested logs, significantly inflating your downstream factory profits.

  • The Botanical Card Collection: The types of trees available for cultivation depend entirely on your personal collection of Tree Cards. You can unlock rarer, highly lucrative tree types (like cone-shaped or yellow trees) by gathering these cards through chests and event milestones.

 

   

Tips and Strategies

  • Match Planters to Lumberjacks: Avoid creating supply bottlenecks. If you upgrade your lumberjacks' cutting speeds, make sure to immediately train your planters as well. If planting speeds fall behind harvesting speeds, your lumberjacks will waste valuable time waiting for trees to mature.

  • Equip Your Best Cards: Whenever you unlock a new tree card variant from a chest, remember to manually enter the forest menu and activate it. The higher the tier of the tree being processed, the more cash your automated milling machines will generate per second.
