Feature Overview
Transforming your timber lands from basic logging plots into beautiful woodlands is both visually stunning and highly lucrative. In Lumber Inc, you can customize the appearance of your forest by cultivating unique botanical varieties such as mighty oaks, fragrant cherry blossoms, or delicate magnolias. These exotic tree cards do not just look distinct—they grant massive passive economic bonuses, speed up logging cycles, and inflate raw material prices across your entire factory floor.
How to Access
To review your botanical inventory, switch tree varieties, or initiate a seed upgrade, tap directly on any active Forest Plot or growing tree on the left side of your main screen. This opens the forestry management hub where you will find the Trees and Forests configuration tabs.
Core Mechanics
Sourcing, customizing, and upgrading your corporate forest ecosystem is governed by three primary mechanics:
1. Sourcing Tree Chests
Advanced tree varieties cannot be found in normal toolboxes or standard production packs. To collect them, you must participate in competitive events and earn high-tier placement on the event brackets. There are two specialized containers:
Rare Tree Chest: Contains Blue-tier Rare tree cards.
Premium Tree Chest: Contains Purple-tier Epic tree cards.
2. Customizing and Planting
To change the visual look of your timberlands and swap species, navigate to the Forests tab inside the woods menu and tap the Select Tree button.
Planting a specialized tree variety dynamically alters both the physical Growth Time and the mechanical Cutting Time for your lumberjack crew.
Log Price Inflation: Processing advanced logs dramatically boosts your base revenue. Milling a Rare tree yields an automatic x1.2 log value multiplier, while milling an Epic tree grants a massive x1.5 log value multiplier.
3. Upgrading Botanical Bonuses
Every single tree card stored in your inventory provides passive global perks to your sawmill, regardless of whether that specific tree is currently planted on your map or not. To upgrade a tree's card tier and increase its global efficiency bonuses, you must spend matching duplicate Tree Cards alongside a set balance of Reputation Points.
Important Rules
⚠️ Instant Activation Restriction: Unlike standard BizChests or Production Crates, earned Rare and Premium Tree Chests cannot be saved or stored in your Shop inventory. The moment you secure a tree chest as an event prize, it is automatically broken open by the game engine, and its card contents are deposited instantly into your botanical collection.
Tips and Strategies
Collect for the Passives: Do not ignore an event just because you don't plan on planting a specific tree variety. Since card bonuses stack globally from your entire inventory, upgrading a species you never plant still raises the structural efficiency parameters of your main factory line.
Save Reputation Points for Upgrades: Evolving tree cards requires a combination of duplicates and Reputation Points. Before spending all your Reputation Points on unlocking the next sawmill tier, check your Trees tab to see if a vital botanical upgrade is ready to be triggered.
