Upgrading and unlocking new sawmills is the core progression system in Lumber Inc. Moving to a new, advanced facility significantly increases your production capacity, multiplies your overall income speed, and unlocks access to new features and managers.

How to Access

You can view the requirements and transition to your next factory at any time right from the main gameplay screen.

To open the upgrade menu, simply tap the factory icon located in the bottom-left corner of your screen.

Core Mechanics

To successfully unlock a new sawmill, you must meet specific growth requirements for your current business. In most cases, transitioning to the next tier requires two main assets:

  • Cash: A specific amount of in-game money generated by your production lines.

  • Reputation Points: Points earned by completing construction orders in your Workshop.

When you open the upgrade menu, you will see your current balances contrasted against the required amounts. Once both conditions are fully met, the upgrade button will become active, allowing you to establish your brand-new facility.

  • Balance Your Focus: Don't just focus on generating cash. Make sure you are constantly running orders in your Workshop to steadily accumulate the Reputation Points needed for the next sawmill tier.

  • Automation is Key: Before moving to a new sawmill, try to upgrade your current managers as much as possible to ensure your new factory starts off running smoothly and efficiently.
