Feature Overview
Optimizing your production lines is key to maximizing profits in Lumber Inc. Your sawmill handles different timber processes across three distinct production paths. Understanding what each machine does allows you to upgrade your factory strategically and meet specific customer orders efficiently.
How to Access
You can interact with, upgrade, and observe all of these machines directly on your main factory floor. Each machine is positioned sequentially along its respective production line.
Core Mechanics
Every machine in your factory takes a specific raw material and processes it into a higher-value product. The primary step for all lines begins with the Debarkers, which strip raw timber to produce peeled logs.
From there, materials branch out into three main production lines:
Production Line 1: Standard Lumber
Canting Machine: Takes peeled logs from the debarkers and processes them into cants.
Resaw Machine: Takes cants and slices them into rough lumber.
Sanding Machine: Further refines cants into smooth, high-quality lumber.
Production Line 2: Engineered Wood & Panels
Wood Chipper: grinds peeled logs down to create chip bags.
Pressing Machine: Compresses chip bags under heavy heat and pressure into chipboards.
Cutting Machine: Cuts chipboards into heavy-duty construction frames.
Production Line 3: Structural Pillars
Turning Machine: Shapes peeled logs into cylindrical rough columns.
Grinding Machine: Shaves and smooths rough columns down into finished columns.
Painting Machine: Coats finished columns with protective layers to create painted columns.
Tips and Strategies
Follow the Chain: If a high-tier machine like the Painting Machine is idling, check the machines behind it (the Grinding and Turning machines). Upgrading the earlier steps in the chain ensures a constant supply of materials.
Diversify Your Layout: Try to unlock and establish all three production lines. Having a wide variety of machines running simultaneously allows you to fulfill complex delivery orders that require high-value items like frames or painted columns.
