Cards are one of the core progression mechanics in Gold and Goblins. They directly dictate the mining speed, worker efficiency, and passive income generation across all areas. Unlocking new technologies and leveling up your cards keeps your power growing permanently.

What are Cards Used For?

Cards function as unique research blueprints. Spending resources to level them up allows you to:

  • Automate mineshaft production using goblin managers.

  • Multiply the passive income generated by the Forge and active Shafts.

  • Speed up goblin delivery rates and lower recruitment prices.

  • Maximize gold yields collected from broken rocks and Mystery Barrels.

  • Enhance the performance and weapons of your Crusher Truck during mini-games.

💡 Permanent Progress: Unlike gold, buildings, and active goblins on the field, all upgrades unlocked with cards are permanent. They transfer completely intact as you move from cave to cave and into temporary event mines.

Card Rarities

Cards come in seven distinct rarity tiers. Higher tiers offer specialized tactical advantages but require more effort to track down:

  • Common & Uncommon: The backbone of your economy, used primarily for standard jewel leveling and shaft automation.

  • Rare & Legendary: Global modifiers that scale your production speeds, worker limits, and combat potential.

  • Epic: Advanced cards focused on enhancing chest loot quantities and driving the Crusher Truck.

  • Majestic & Ancestral: Specialized endgame cards that unlock boss-level entities and raw combat multipliers.

Where to Find Cards:

Cards can be pulled from regular and bonus supply chests on the map, secured by clearing checkpoints or fixing ruined shafts, claimed as milestone event rewards via keys, collected during the Crusher Truck mini-game, or purchased directly from the in-game shop.

Notable Card Examples

⚔️ Rare & Legendary Cards (Combat & Operations)

  • Crit Chance & Crit Damage: Unlocks a mechanic where your goblins can land devastating critical strikes on rocks. Raising the chance card increases how often these strikes trigger, while the damage card multiplies the raw power of the hit.

  • Rocket Cart: Permanently boosts the processing speed of all active shafts and the forge.

  • Iron Pickaxe / Special Delivery: Multiplies the baseline gold rewards dropped by broken boulders and mystery barrels.

  • Golden Helmet: Raises the maximum goblin population cap allowed on your active field.

  • Golden Cannon: Automatically increases the starting level of newly hired goblins.

🚚 Epic Cards (Crusher Truck & Chest Enhancements)

  • Crusher Tuning: Increases the driving speed of your truck during the transition bonus stage.

  • Bomb Launcher: Mounts an automatic explosive deployer to the front of your truck.

  • Booster Pack: Adds bonus cards to every standard chest you open.

  • Big Blast / Rocks Gems Chance x2: Significantly boosts gold and gem extraction probabilities from rocks.

  • Summoning: Requires collecting 4 matching cards and an elixir investment to deploy.

  • Effect: Calls a massive boss goblin to the field that globally amplifies the raw mining damage of all nearby workers.

  • Limitation: Stays with your account permanently but can only be summoned within the main campaign mines, not event maps.

🧬 Ancestral Cards (Late-Game Power)

Unlocked strictly after reaching Mine 100, this system ensures your card rewards never lose value.

  • The Conversion Process: Once a regular card reaches its absolute maximum level, any extra duplicates you open are automatically processed into Ancestral Knowledge.

  • Endgame Boosts: This specialized resource accumulates to permanently upgrade your workforce's global attack damage and dynamite blast capacity.

  • Limitation: These endgame damage multipliers apply globally in regular campaign mines, not during event challenges.
