What are Runes?

Runes are items that can be used to increase Hero's stats. At level 15 you unlock a Runic amulet where you can put various Runes to customize your hero, increase their stats, and make them more powerful.

Here is Runes classification by rarity:  

  • Common (grey color)
  • Uncommon (green color)
  • Rare (blue color)
  • Epic (purple color)
  • Legendary (gold color)
The rarer the Rune, the higher the % of stats increase for your heroes.
Runes are also classified by Star count — from 1* to 6*. The more the stars the better the runes.
Runes give an increase in basic stats like Damage, Armor, Crit Chance and Crit Damage, Speed, Shield, etc. It is better to select Runes based on the role of the hero. For instance, if they have good damage range, it is a good idea to pick the Crit Chance that will help to increase Damage.
If you are looking to upgrade your Defender hero who can Taunt, it might be a good choice to increase their Health with Runes.

Runic Amulet
Runic Amulet contains 6 slots for the Runes. Each of them increase has basic stats that you increase using Runes. For example, the Northern Rune basic stat increases Damage by %. Which means the more rare and the higher star count the more damage uncrease you will get upgrading that Rune. The Northeastern Rune has different possible basic stats. They are generated randomly (unless stated otherwise), so when you upgrade a Rune, there is a chance that instead of Health, you might receive Armor.

How to create a Rune Word (Rune Set)?

If you install  2 or 4 runes with the same pictogram (Rune type), you will receive a Rune Set that grants you an extra bonus for a stat depending on the Rune type. You can even have several Rune Sets per Amulet:

Tap the "i" button or Rune Set icons to check the information about the set and the stats rate increase that Rune Sets provide.

Why should I upgrade runes?

By upgrading a Rune you increase the Rune main stat. For every 4 levels of the upgrade the Rune receives an extra stat.

How to make my heroes quicker?

The turn order depends on the hero's speed stat. In order to make it better, it’s best to increase the speed runes of the hero.

How does Potency vs Tenacity work?

Potency affects the chance to apply combat effects to enemies Tenacity affects the chance to resist combat effects from enemies.

What is Auto Assign?

If you don't know what kind of Runes you need you can just use Auto Assign function. It will select the best option from the Runes that you have in storage. You can also tap "i" button to see recomended Runes for your hero for a specific level. It is rather useful if you have doubts conccerning your choice of runes.
