Military Gear is essential for your survival in the wasteland, providing crucial stat boosts that your character uses in all battles throughout the game. Equipping and optimizing the right combination of items is the difference between life and death when facing relentless zombie waves or rival survivors.
Types of Military Gear
Your character can wear up to 10 types of items simultaneously, which are divided between main gear slots and specialized accessories:
- Ranged Weapon
- Melee Weapon
- Hat
- Body
- Gloves
- Boots
- Belt
- Neck
- Wrist
- Pants
Each of the 6 main items features a unique icon showing the current visual skin applied to it. You can customize these appearances through the Equipment Customization system to give your survivor a unique look. The remaining 4 accessory items (Belt, Neck, Wrist, and Pants) feature their own default skins that are fixed and cannot be changed.
Rarity and Levels
All Military Gear items are classified into clear rarity tiers, which directly determine the scale of the passive combat attributes they provide. The rarity ranks stretch from lowest to highest, beginning with foundational tiers such as:Rusted, Scrap, Hardened, Elite, etc.
The higher the item's rarity, the larger the boost given to your baseline combat stats. In addition to rarity, the individual level of an item is incredibly important, as upgrading a piece directly multiplies its operational attributes.
Pro Tips
- Looting and Shovel Upgrades: You will continuously scavenge new pieces of gear automatically via the Looting mechanic while actively fighting. To increase your odds of digging up items of higher rarities, remember to regularly upgrade your Shovel.
- Custom Loadouts: To adapt to different combat scenarios seamlessly, you can configure and save multiple custom Loadouts. This allows you to rapidly switch equipment configurations depending on your immediate tactical needs.
