Sometimes your wasteland gear needs a quick reset! Force-closing Idle Outpost is the fastest way to clear up a frozen screen, free up temporary device memory, or force a fresh sync with our servers if a purchase or reward is delayed.
Because Android devices vary by manufacturer (Samsung, Google Pixel, Xiaomi, etc.), we have outlined the two most reliable ways to completely reset the application:
📱 Method 1: Using the Recent Apps Menu (Standard Close)
This is the quickest way to close the game if it is currently responsive.
- If you use Gesture Navigation:
- Swipe up from the bottom edge of your screen and hold your finger in the center for a brief moment until your recently used apps appear.
- Swipe left or right to find the Idle Outpost window.
- Swipe the game window firmly upward (or sideways, depending on your phone's brand) to flick it off the screen and close it.
If you use 3-Button Navigation:
- Tap the Recent Apps navigation button at the very bottom of your screen (usually a square icon, or an icon with three vertical lines).
- Scroll through your active apps to locate Idle Outpost.
- Swipe the game window away or tap the "X" / "Close All" button to shut it down.
⚙️ Method 2: Performing a Hard "Force Stop" (Advanced Close)
If the game is completely frozen, or if Method 1 did not solve your issue, you can force the Android system to shut down all backend app processes completely:
Open your phone or tablet's main Settings app.
Scroll down and select Apps, Applications, or App Management (the exact wording depends on your device).
Tap on See all apps or scroll through the list until you find Idle Outpost.
On the game's App Info page, tap the Force Stop (or Force Close) button.
Confirm the action by tapping OK on the system pop-up window.
What to Do Next?
After completing either method, return to your device's home screen, wait a few seconds, and relaunch Idle Outpost to establish a brand-new, clean server connection.
If you are closing the game to resolve a persistent crash or loading loop and these steps didn't help, make sure your Android operating system is fully updated, clear your app cache, and verify that you have a stable internet connection.
