Welcome to the Idle Outpost Parental Guide. We understand that ensuring a safe and controlled digital environment for your child is a top priority. Idle Outpost is a free-to-play strategy game, but it does contain optional in-app purchases (using real money) and advertisements.

Below, you will find essential information regarding our age guidelines, how to completely restrict or password-protect in-app purchases, and what to do if an accidental purchase has occurred.

🔞 Age Guidelines & Requirements

Per our official Terms of Service, players must be at least 16 years of age to download and play Idle Outpost independently. If your child is under the age of 16, they are required to have a parent or legal guardian review and accept the terms of the game before creating a profile or playing.

🔒 How to Restrict or Disable In-App Purchases

We do not directly process payments inside our mobile application; all transactions are securely handled through the official device app stores (Apple App Store or Google Play Store). You can easily restrict, password-protect, or entirely disable in-app purchases globally through your device’s native operating system settings.

🍏 For Apple (iOS) Devices (iPhone, iPad)

You can use Apple's built-in Screen Time feature to prevent unauthorized purchases:

  1. Open your device’s main Settings app.
  2. Tap Screen Time and turn it on if it isn't already.
  3. Select Content & Privacy Restrictions (enter your Screen Time passcode if prompted).
  4. Tap iTunes & App Store Purchases.
  5. Select In-app Purchases and set it to "Don't Allow".

Alternatively, you can choose to require your Apple ID password for "Always Require" under the password settings section.

🤖 For Android Devices (Samsung, Google Pixel, etc.)

You can require authentication for every single transaction attempted on the device:

  1. Open the Google Play Store app.
  2. Tap your Profile Icon in the top-right corner.
  3. Select Settings and tap the Verification (or Authentication) dropdown menu.
  4. Tap Require authentication for purchases.
  5. Select "For all purchases through Google Play on this device".

This ensures no transactions can clear without entering your biometric fingerprint or Google account password.

💸 Dealing with Accidental Purchases & Refunds

If an unauthorized or accidental purchase has occurred on your account, please note that we cannot directly issue refunds for those transactions. To request a refund, you must submit a claim through the respective platform's billing desk:

  • For Apple Devices: Navigate to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, find the accidental transaction, and tap "Request a Refund."

  • For Android Devices: Go to the Google Play Help portal online and utilize their automated "Request a Google Play refund" tool, or check your email receipt to find the seller contact link.

Note: If the purchase was made on our external Webshop, please contact our payment processing partner, Xsolla, directly via their Help Center to manage the billing dispute.
